If you have taken courses at an out-of-state or private institution that you believe are applicable to Core Curriculum requirements, download and complete the fillable form below and attach required documentation.
Contact the appropriate department or advising center if you need a course evaluated for major or minor requirements. Check your advising notes in your degree audit for information your academic advisor may have provided about these evaluations. Your advisor can provide additional information if you need help.

The documentation should include at least one of the following required documents:
- Course catalog description from the year you took the course
- Table of contents pages from the textbook(s) used in the course
- Course syllabus and/or course materials
- Correspondence from the instructor explaining contents of the course

Transfer Evaluation Request (TER) – FAQ

1. What is the status of my TER?
The status of your TER depends on when you submitted your form. If you submitted it recently, it may still be processing. Once it has been reviewed and updated, you’ll be notified.

2. How long will it take to process a TER?
TERs are reviewed in the order they are received. On average, it takes about 4–6 weeks from the date you submitted your TER for it to be processed. During busy times, it may take a little longer, but you’ll be notified once your evaluation is complete.

3. I need to submit a TER, can you please send me the TER form to complete?
You can download the TER form here: TER Form PDF.
Once completed, submit it in one of the following ways:

4. How do I fill out the TER form?
Be sure to complete every section of the form, especially your student ID number. List the courses you want evaluated under the correct core component. Don’t copy course descriptions or syllabi directly into the form—please attach those separately as a Word or PDF document.

5. I have IB credit, will your office be the one to process it?
Yes, our office processes IB credit. To do so, we’ll need a complete syllabus for each IB course you’d like evaluated.

6. How can I find my course description from my institution?
Course descriptions are usually available on your institution’s website in the course catalog. If you need a syllabus, you may need to contact the instructor directly.
