“A professor from Austin Community College saw my passion for the medical lab and connected me with CLS professor and chair Dr. Rohde. He introduced me to the major and it fit my goals perfectly. “In order to transfer to Texas State, I had to attend night classes while working full-time in the Marine Corps, which showed me the importance of being adaptable to uncomfortable situations,” Yeremi said. “I learned that if I keep my eyes on the prize and take actionable steps towards a goal, I can be successful at anything.”

The United States Department of Agriculture is partnering with Texas State University to promote the recruitment of students to the TXST agriculture programs. TXST is partnering with four community colleges to recruit transfer students, with an incentive of a paid internship with the USDA.
